Based in Brisbane, ANNE SCANLON is a self taught artist who loves to paint uplifting pieces in a variety of mediums. Her love affair with painting and drawing started age 4, under the encouragement and guidance of her late grandfather, Harold, a skilled oil painter. She finds inspiration in the everyday, and loves to use the colours and subjects that she comes across in her home and surrounds.
Anne is currently working in Oil Pastels, a responsive, dynamic, vibrant medium with a playful nature. She loves to paint the joyful, nostalgic, the beautiful, anything that can lift the spirits or soothe. She loves texture, shadows, light and saturated colour. Her favourite things to paint are those that bring a smile, or a happy memory. Anything that can bring a moment of joy.
