ABOUT SHARON:
Sharon Hunjas is a Brisbane based artist with a healthy obsession for palm trees, old shacks, and breeze blocks. She completed a Diploma of Visual Arts at Southbank Tafe in 2024.
She works from her sunroom studio at her home in New Farm. She works with acrylics, charcoal and graphite pencil on either board or canvas using lots of layers to create texture and enjoys experimenting with mark marking.
Her ideal day is to get out and explore the country landscape, urban or beachside streets, finding houses, natural elements and shapes that provide inspiration. She is drawn to the beauty of imperfections.
A creative background and a work history in architectural antiques has contributed to a contemporary style with a vintage feel in terms of her work and use of colour.
The aim of Sharon’s art is to convey a happy, feel good and positive emotion for the viewer while invoking images of remembered places.
